Meet licensed, professional physician, Savita Ginde.

Over the course of her career, Dr. Savita Ginde has held numerous senior-level positions as she provided patient care, conducted relevant research and managed medical clinics dedicated to women’s healthcare. Dr. Ginde was at the center of a major controversy involving a manufactured news story. This experience provided her with unique insight into the state of modern-day journalism and the boundaries around the free speech afforded to Americans through the First Amendment.

Dr. Savita Ginde was born in Ohio, the first-generation American daughter of parents who came to the United States from India. After earning her Medical Degree in 1997, she completed a residency in Family Medicine followed by the Fellowship in Family Planning.Imageedit 5 9409725494

It was during her Residency training that Savita first developed her abiding interest in women’s healthcare, and after completing her fellowship in 2003, she moved to Colorado and went to work for Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM).

Savita served as Vice President and Medical Director of PPRM for fourteen years. Throughout her tenure with PPRM, Savita worked hard to broaden the scope of PPRM’s healthcare, expanding its services to include transgender care, integrated abortion care, as well as a growing clinical research program and a highly sought after and comprehensive clinical training program.

Dr. Savita Ginde is the former medical director of one of Colorado’s Federally Qualified Health Centers. There, she worked as part of an integrated healthcare team that managed almost two dozen health centers and delivered comprehensive healthcare to the medically indigent population of suburban Denver.

In her free time, Savita enjoys spending time with her husband, her children, and pets, hiking and playing in the outdoors, traveling, and cooking. She is fervently dedicated to creating equity in access to opportunity and to improving awareness of and access to reproductive healthcare services.
